You can elect to perform mouse removal in a number of different ways. You can use mouse traps, which will kill a mouse. Using a mouse trap to perform mouse removal is not always the most effective way to deal with mice. Pets and children could be in danger when you decide to use mouse traps. The spring on the mouse trap could cause injury to a child or a pet. A child or a pet may decide they want to play with the dead mouse. They won’t know any different. However, the mouse could carry deadly diseases and what if the mouse was only injured in the trap and not dead? It may bite your child or pet. The other problem when using a mouse trap is that you have to dispose of the dead mouse that is in the trap. This would not be a very pleasant task at all. Not only would this be disgusting but you may forget about the mouse trap for quite some time which will result in some awful smells throughout your home until you finally realize what the problem is. Having a mouse trap going off at various times and without any warning could certainly startle people and wake them up at night while they are trying to sleep. If children happen to hear the sound of the mouse trap going off it could certainly frighten them especially if it happens to be at night while they are sleeping. Using mouse traps is not a good way to perform a mouse removal task.
There are live traps that you could use to perform mouse removal. Most live traps are safe to use around children and pets. You do want to make sure you read the instructions if you do purchase one though, just to be sure. When using a live mouse trap to perform mouse removal, it is up to you to take the mouse somewhere to let it be free. This is a good option for those who may forget about a mouse trap that kills a mouse because the mouse will certainly make noises inside the trap and the homeowner will certainly hear the noises and remember about the trap. Another benefit to using a live mouse trap when considering using a mouse removal method is you can share a much better experience with your children. It will teach them to care about the animals found in the world and that it is not always necessary to kill them when they are considering mouse removal techniques later in life.
If you live in an apartment, your landlord is responsible to keep your living space rodent free. Unfortunately, not all landlords care. To avoid having to deal with mouse removal at all, it is best to try to keep them away to start with. No leaving food out and making sure that crumbs are picked up off the floor. Seal up any small holes that a mouse can crawl through.
